Success!! Vacation with a toddler (and a large portion of my family) was fantastic! You’ve heard me talk constantly about our vacation to Carlton Landing, Oklahoma, and it’s for good reason. The word magical comes to mind. There’s something about walking around the small town after dinner at night and talking to people sitting on their front porches – one family was playing guitars and banjos! Or getting up and taking the kids fishing (to be clear- my sister did that. I was sleeping in, HA). We would walk the half block to the pool – which was usually empty, play for an hour, walk back. No traffic, no stress- life unplugged. I highly recommend giving it a try if you want an elevated lake vacation. (I also loved not having a house ON the lake. I always worry about kids drowning on lake lots. I am a super paranoid mom. Am I the only one???)

This look was a favorite because it’s casual, yet still cute- my life mantra these days. The hat was a lifesaver because I hate putting sunscreen on my face outside of my normal mineral spf- so I wear hats all. the. time to avoid extra stickiness. I kept the actual outfit simple because the shoes, hat, and sunglasses were all somewhat statement pieces on their own. At least for me. I’m not one for ALL of the accessories and the crazy outfit at the same time.

We will continue going back to Carlton Landing every summer. Where’s your go-to vacation to unplug?
