In the fall/Winter casual layers are key, and this is one of my favorite outfits right now. When I get on a plane to travel, I want as many layers as possible to be able to adjust to the temp on each flight. This also comes in handy when you go into buildings that are FREEZING or somewhere that the heater is on way too high.
__47editI always say that the key to layering is to not add bulk. The shirt and draped cardigan are both from LOFT and are incredibly soft as well as thin. The cardigan is a heavy weave, but not thick. (It should feel thin, but heavy for its weight, if that makes sense.)

I paired the outfit with some amazing jade jewelry from chloe + isabel: the gilded reeds adventure long pendant and drop earrings, c/o Chloe + Isabel by Meeghan. They really give some color and style without overpowering the casual vibe. I know it may sound weird, but accessories can really make or break an outfit. Think about the accessories as a reflection on the look you’re going for. Classy, wear pearls. Rocker? Wear metal accents with spikes mixed with leather. Glam = statement necklaces and massive amounts of bling!

My pants and shoes of choice on casual days (and for this outfit) are black skinnies and black flats. Both from J.Crew (Not pictured).

I LOVE this draped cardigan and it works with almost everything in my closet. I wear it over business dresses and pencil skirts at work, or over jeans and a t-shirt for errands on the weekend. This sweater is a STAPLE. Similar style here.

Have a great Wednesday! Stay warm!
