So I FINALLY got with the program and subscribed to Birchbox. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s a $10/month subscription that sends you makeup and other beauty products. I figured I’d try it for a few months at least to see if it was worth all the hubbub.
Here’s what my first month’s box looked like:
First of all, can we all agree that box is super cute?? Ok, on to the contents. I’m pretty excited about it. I love this primer from Laura Mercier. I have been wanting to try this, so it’s great that I got such a large sample size. (It’s $34 for 1.7 oz and this is a 1 oz trial size. This alone is worth the box.)
Also, this highlighter is ADORABLE. I thought it was a nail polish at first, and was totally bummed. Upon further inspection, I found it to be a highlighter and was so pumped!
So, I got a lot of hair products. Shampoo and Conditioner from Davines OI:
…and a hair oil (in a pretty big size) from the same company. I know nothing about this brand, so we shall see. (I checked out reviews, and people are swearing by this stuff, so I’ll let you know if it works or not.)
I also received this Temple Spa “Peace Be Still” Calming Face and Body Balm. Let’s be honest- I could use a little “peace be still” in my life, however, I have never found something that I would put on my body AND face. That’s just crazy talk. No way I’m putting this on my face.
Lastly, the one flop of the box: a perfume that is CRAZY strong (eek).
All in all, I’m excited to try the primer, highlighter, and the box is adorable, so it’s worth the $10 this month. If the hair products do what everyone says says they do, I’ll be even more excited. Let’s see how next month stacks up.
