dress01Ahhh, the DVF wrap dress. I love a wrap dress. I love styling clients in a wrap dress. It’s both feminine and forgiving. Ha, I even wore maternity wrap dresses when I was pregnant with AJD. Needless to say, I have a love affair with wrap dresses. dress05dress02 dress03dress06

Now, although I LOVE a DVF (Diane von Furstenberg) wrap dress, they tend to be a bit low cut and a bit … how should I say this … well, one good gust of Kansas wind and I’m pulling a full Marilyn Monroe. So, if you don’t want to spend the money on a DVF dress you have options. Other brands make some fantastic wrap dresses and you can even look for a faux wrap- one that is sewn shut, but has the same appearance of a traditional wrap dress.

Regardless this is fabulous look for basically any body type. It give the illusion of an hourglass figure if you don’t have one, hides trouble areas (tummy, thighs, etc), and they come in a wide array of colors and fabrics. They are literally appropriate for every season.

This is a closet must. Every women should own a wrap dress. Trust me on this.

**Random hilarious side note, if you follow me on instagram (and you should 😉 ) you will note that this is the purse the baby “bought” for me. And by bought I mean- I got it in the mail, decided I was going to send it back and the baby crawled over when I walked out of the room, ripped the tag off of the purse and ate it. Now, this was RIGHT after he started crawling and pulling up on things. He apparently summoned all baby superhuman strength he had in his 10 month self and sped over (I was gone 10 seconds) ripped the tag completely off (babies LOVE tags) and had it in his mouth when I returned to the room. I will also note that it was in a box ON the couch. He was on the floor. Never again. So, thank you, AJD, your first present to mommy. A Kate Spade handbag. Nicely played.

Daddy was less than thrilled. 😉
