IMG_0739When my sweet blogging buddy Rachel over at Pencil Shavings Studio started writing about Carlton Landing, Oklahoma, my interest was piqued. It was only 4 hours away and it provided everything I wanted for a vacation with a small child- a lake experience combined with a lovely quaint town full of wonderful and inviting people. I can’t say enough about this place. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.IMG_0784 IMG_0783IMG_0743IMG_0742IMG_0741IMG_0740

Our days were spent on the lake or at the community pool, and our evenings were spent strolling around the town enjoying the perfect weather and talking to the lovely people that lived there.IMG_0752 IMG_0751 IMG_0750 IMG_0749IMG_0808 IMG_0802 IMG_0793

Lunch was from the airstream food truck run by a former Top Chef contestant. Yep. I just said that. BEST. FOOD. EVER.IMG_0792

They even had a community garden with chickens. IMG_0779 IMG_0778 IMG_0777 IMG_0771 IMG_0770

After the baby went to bed, Ian and I played board games, watched TV and just enjoyed “us” time. It was the best vacation we’ve ever had. Completely stress free, perfect accommodations, everything we could ever want in a vacation with a little guy. We were not in the mood to fly with a baby (yes we COULD, doesn’t mean we want to) nor did we want to drive more than 4-5 hours somewhere.IMG_0738 IMG_0736IMG_0839IMG_0822IMG_0847IMG_0846

I can’t suggest this place enough. Haha, Ian and I are even looking into purchasing property there. It was THAT AMAZING.IMG_0850 IMG_0848IMG_0757 IMG_0754 IMG_0762 IMG_0761 IMG_0760 IMG_0759

It was lovely.
