Confession time. Until very recently I have not owned a chambray shirt. It’s not that I don’t love them, I’ve just had the hardest time finding one that I liked AND one that fit well. All of them seemed too tight in the shoulders or waaaaay too baggy. Haha, I kid you not, I’ve tried over 30. I don’t know what my deal was, BUT I finally found one at Gap. I’d tried them on there before, but this had more of a “cowboy” cut and fits my frame well. It’s not too dark and it’s not too light. Perfect!
The trick with wearing chambray with demin is to pair different hues of blue. Light colored shirt? Go darker with the jeans, and vice-versa. That helps avoid the head to toe “Canadian Tuxedo” look. Although, I do love Canadians. 🙂
Also, let’s talk about belting scarves. This is a super easy and SUPER quick way to add style and wear a scarf differently. It’s unique AND (bonus!) it’s super slimming. The eye travels up and down, while the belt helps accentuate the waist. It makes anyone look slimmer. It’s all about visual trickery. It also works if you’re self conscious about your stomach- this helps hide it without having a super billowy top. Ta-Da!
