Jacket3You are all aware that I adore the color black when it comes to clothing. Half of my wardrobe is either black or pairs with black extremely well. It’s classic, timeless, sophisticated, and most importantly- SIMPLE!

Last week I showed you guys an all-black look, but today I thought I would show something that is a bit less monochromatic. This blazer is detailed to look like those from Chanel, and I love it! It’s the perfect item to keep in your closet to throw on and immediately add interest to an otherwise basic outfit. This would also pair well with jeans, or perhaps a black pencil skirt or simple LBD.

This is something I would wear to committee meetings where I want to look pulled together- but yet incredibly comfortable. I would also totally rock this to brunch. 🙂 You could dress it up with heels if you wanted to, but I thought I’d show it how I actually wear it- as a last minute “outfit finisher” to complete the ensemble.  Jacket5

Sorry I’ve been a post slacker this week!! Ian is in London for business and I have been solo parenting Alexander WHILE I make over/paint all trim and cabinets white in our master suite. Why I do this to myself, I will never know. Suffice to say, I’m a bit in over my head, but I will get it done! I have also discovered that I don’t mind painting, it’s all of the ridiculous taping I have to do. That blue tape… it haunts my dreams. This is what happens when you build a house and put in extra windows for natural light- you have MORE WINDOWS TO TAPE. AUGH!!!!

Say prayers for me. 🙂

Haha, next week I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule!
