unspecified-8Hidey Ho Fashion Friends! Today I’m whipping out a favorite from my closet- wide leg red pants. I love them.

No really, I loooooooooooooooove them.

It’s that time of year again or as I like to call it “Random, but SUPER IMPORTANT date night with alllllllllllll of the pressure for the dude to not screw it up.” 🙂 Kidding, but seriously, I am not a valentines kind of girl. Granted, my love language is gifts, but that’s more of a spontaneous thing (think: Haribo gummy bears for no reason), not a mandatory holiday thing. Also, I’m more of a stickler about birthdays and our anniversary than I am about Vday. I don’t know, something about the ENTIRETY of my city’s couples descending upon restaurants makes me want to run and hide. Or eat Chipotle instead, because dang those burritos are TASTY.

I digress.

ANYHOODLE, I’m over red dresses this year. (Not for everyone, just for me.) So it was these pants or some red skinnies. I opted for these pants, because, hello… look at them.

I bought them 2 years ago from Banana Republic and actually paid full price. Guys, it nearly killed me. I hate paying retail for things. A tiny bit of my soul dies when that happens. (Side note, I totally typed out “sole” hahahaha, I always have shoes on the brain!) Regardless, I don’t wear them all of the time because I hate dry clean only clothes and they’re a statement piece, not a daily item. unspecified-9

I just wanted to show a date night/Valentines Day look that wasn’t a red dress and heels. I love how tall wide-leg pants make me look! If you do get some, make sure you wear heels with them if you’re petite. Otherwise you’ll look shorter and rounder. My husband is 6’1, so I already look like a hobbit from the Shire when I stand next to him. Any chance to look normal sized next to him is a bonus. Also, it’s COLD OUTSIDE. No dresses for me until it warms up. unspecified-11 unspecified-10 Also, I love that this cream blouse has black trim/accents. As my skin is nearly the same exact color as this blouse (#palegirlproblems), I like that this detail keeps the color from washing me out. It’s just enough detail to stop me from being a pale monochromatic blur next to the brilliant red pants. unspecified-13 unspecified-12
