Hi everyone! This week I’m doing my usual outfit post a day early because I’m co-hosting a link-up with the lovely Laura from I do deClaire. Hilariously, we didn’t plan on having the same color scheme, but you have to admit, we nailed to color coordination for this picture! 🙂 Laura is a wife, mommy, and a speech therapist with fantastic style. I adore how she mixes classic items with new stylish trends- she always looks fabulous, whether is be a casual weekend or work wear. If you’re not already following her on Bloglovin’ I highly suggest you do it. Also, she has the most gorgeous hair. The volume and curls are AMAZING.

Now, I don’t often say this, but this pencil skirt is probably my favorite thing in my closet. Yes. I just said that. I straight up ADORE this particular skirt I got years ago at Ann Taylor. As you can’t find it anymore (sooooo sad about that) I’ve linked a few blue and pink skirts I think are adorable and would work perfectly well with this look.

I paired the skirt with my favorite chambray button up, a statement necklace and those blue tie sandals I can’t stop wearing. If you want to achieve a look like this, but don’t particularly love pink or blue, you can totally pair the chambray with any bright colored skirt. You can totally use pastels, but I don’t feel as if it gives the same pop to a look like a bright pencil skirt.

But then again you know I love color. 😉

You could also do a nude flat or heel if you don’t want to go with my cobalt blue heels. I just love any excuse to wear them, really. Nude would completely work to keep the focus and attention on the top half of your outfit. Speaking of which- I chose a smaller statement necklace and wore it underneath the shirt so that it’s there as an accent, but not stealing attention from the shirt and skirt. If you had on this top with black or white pants, I would pick a bigger necklace and wear it on the outside (under the collar) to emphasize the jewels and draw attention up towards your face. In this instance, I wanted the skirt to be the focal point, so the necklace went under.

Ok enough about outfit decisions! On to the link-up! 😉
