I’ve had so many of you ask for ways to style the same item in your wardrobe differently- so here is my favorite green blouse paired with a skirt. Perviously you saw me wearing this blouse with some adorable patterned shorts in this post.

I always tell my clients to not purchase something unless you can wear it with multiple items in your closet, and I’ll give you the same advice. I love basic blouses for that very reason- they can go with anything. A good wardrobe isn’t choppy- it can flow seamlessly from season to season and from occasion to occasion. If green isn’t your “color” I would advise picking one that is equally bright, but in a hue that suits you. Blue, green, red, pink- whatever, find a blouse that fits perfectly and is simplistic in it’s design. Patterns, too many details, etc, will date a shirt and make it harder to blend into your wardrobe as the seasons change. If you’re not sure what your color is (and it can be more than one) think about what color you have on when people compliment you. No idea? (You’re not alone.) You can take this handy, and quick, quiz here.
When in doubt I ALWAYS gravitate towards a cute black or cream blouse. I steer clear of white because it doesn’t play with other colors as well as cream and it’s hard to find one that’s not somewhat sheer. Below are a few of my picks for bright colors and all are under $40.
I will also continue to style this green blouse throughout the year so you can see the other outfit options!

Thank you Lee! I’m a sucker for a bow on a bag!
Couldn’t agree more that a good wardrobe is made up of versatile pieces that you can wear on different seasons and occasions. Nice tip! 🙂
Thanks Belle! I’m all about a versatile wardrobe over a huge wardrobe.
Such a pretty vibrant top! Few people can pull off green as much as you.
Very classy chic look!

Tamara, you’re so kind! Haha, red hair comes with a lot of struggles, so wearing green is a fun perk! 😉
Adriele, I am loving this green blouse! It looks so fabulous on you. And green is my forever favorite color! The way I discovered which colors look best on me is by scanning through my IG feed of outfit posts. I started seeing a trend in the photos that got the most attention and the ones that popped visually to me. And there it was…red, blues, pinks, and greens are absolutely my colors! Really great advice, by the way.
I would love for you to join my weekly link up On the Edge of the Week. It goes live every Thursday at 5:00 p.m. EST and remains open for one week. I hope to see you there! Have a wonderful day!

That green is perfect with your complexion—really it’d go with so much!! Don’t you love it when you find an item that works so well for you?
And great tips—they seem so obvious, but you have to rationalize your purchases!

Can you tell me what hair products you use to keep it so shiny? I am trying different things now, and like Kerastase but have to watch it getting too oily

Jess- hey friend! I use the “It’s a 10” leave in conditioner in the bottom half of my hair (I put Aquage Uplifting foam at my roots) before I round brush it dry. I also rinse with cold water after I’m done in the shower and wrap the hair in a t-shirt instead of a towel to cut down frizz!
That skirt is so pretty, I have one sort of similar to it in a shorter length. It looks awesome with the green top! I also just love your hair here!!
