I often get asked about what items people should wear together- and I can understand why. Shopping, in of itself, is stressful- let alone pulling everything together for a cohesive look. So I thought I would put together a few casual outfit ideas for you and explain why they go together. All outfits are casual and basic. You can wear minimal makeup or throw your hair up in a messy bun and the outfit will still work. I’ve paired all outfits here with boots, but if you don’t have boots or just prefer ballet flats- go with that. Ok, let’s do this!

Outfit One:

grey-sweater2       Sweater | Jeans | Boots: Splurge/Save

I love this outfit for a few reasons, but overall I love the simplicity of it. It’s cozy and warm (which is a must) and you can layer a vest or coat over this as the months cool down. The sweater is longer and has notched sides, paired with the funnel neck and chunky knit- it stands on its own without the need for jewelry or a scarf. Simplicity. The pants are a black cropped jean, but if you need something with a bit more stretch, I would go with these pants instead. The idea is to pair a thicker/longer sweater with a thinner and streamlined bottom- hence the black denim. These boots are a favorite because of the high ankle and block heel- trendy but still allow for a lot of warmth. You can wear thicker socks under them and no one will be the wiser. They’re very stylish and chic, but also very comfortable. Block heels are seriously in style and you will be seeing them everywhere. As I’ve also mentioned numerous times- you want to pick a boot with a higher ankle. The low slung ankle boots that dominated the fashion world are on their way out. I look for something that comes up at least 2 inches above my ankle bone.

Outfit Two:

vest1Flannel | Vest | Jeans | Booties

Probably my favorite out of all three looks because I am obsessed with every item in this picture. The flannel is insanely soft and warm but not so thick that you can’t layer it under other things if needed. The vest is my standby and I can’t wear it enough. It comes in quite a few colors as well (bonus)! These jeans are the perfect balance of comfortable and slouchy without being baggy and shapeless. The boots speak for themselves. Insanely comfortable. Super chic and versatile (I can wear with jeans, skirts, and trouser pants), these are going to get a LOT of wear this fall.

Outfit Three:

jeans2Jeans | Sweater | Jacket | Boots | Hat

The perfect combination of some of my favorite fall colors- army green, camel, and burgundy. Swoon. The hat and the boots make the outfit a bit dressier, but you could change out the panama hat for a navy baseball cap and throw on some white sneakers for a more casual vibe. You can also add a scarf or a statement necklace if you want, but I wanted to keep it simple.

None of these looks are very complicated or involve items that are difficult to find. As always, I tend to splurge on shoes- as they are KEY to my comfort throughout the day. (Hurting feet = a cranky Adriele. NO ONE wants that, trust me.) Also, I can wear the same pair of shoes all week long with different looks and that works. Wear the same shirt daily and people just think you’re weird. 😉

I’ll try to keep posting more things like this, as I know it helps for outfit ideas. Do you have a favorite of the three I posted above? Let me know in the comments!
