This week has flown by. Or blown by. (The winds here are ridiculous these days.)
This solid brush/beauty sponge cleaner is AMAZING. I have tried baby soap, olive oil and dish soap, shampoo, etc- and nothing gets my brushes and beauty sponges cleaner. It’s magical. The little rubber disk that comes with it really helps my tools get clean. A little goes a long way!
Ok, I got some of this lip oil and it’s pretty amazing. It’s oil that tints your lips! It’s a bit of a luxury item, but I think it’s worth it! I am debating going and getting the lip balm now too,
I have the ultimate mom bag. I can’t say enough good things about it. Simple. Durable. Cute. Not gigantic, but still holds a LOT.
These wedges from DSW are identical to the designer version we saw everywhere last summer!!! I LOVE them!
I think this beaded pouch is the cutest thing ever and I am willing to bet we’ll see more things like it in the summer.
I’m in vacation planning week (we have a few smaller trips we’re talking this year, so I’m trying to figure out car activities for Alexander). If you have any ideas- let me know! We’re currently obsessed with this Melissa and Doug sticker set.
Also, we’re trying to figure out how in the heck to deal with a kid too big for a pack and play, but not used to a big boy bed yet at the hotel. Yikes!!
If you need me this weekend, I’ll be watching KU basketball and preparing for KC Fashion week next week!
The DSW wedges are seriously the best! Love all of these!

Love it! I’ve got 3 boys (ages 5, 3, and 1.5) and we’ve done loads of roadtrips so I can pass on a few suggestions! Having a Kindle with the child settings and preloaded with games and shows we approve of has been a life saver. Also, anything NEW, books he hasn’t seen before or a small learning toy that has buttons. Those little mess free coloring books found at target or walmart are also great. As for sleeping at the hotel, we have had success with putting pool noodles under the sheets to keep them from falling out while they are sleeping. Also, they get really excited about sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor like it’s a special camping adventure. A sleeping pad underneath can make it extra comfy. Sorry I’m going a little long here! Hopefully there is something useful there ?
In regards to not having a bed sized for Alexander; when we faced a similar issue we called the hotel and many times they would have bed rails for children that could be placed between the mattress and box spring. If they don’t it will be worth your money, in the years to come, to invest in a portable bed rail – $15-20 at Target/Wal-Mart. We would get a room with two Queen beds and we would put our daughter in one bed with the rail on one side (next to child) and either my husband or I would sleep with her and act as the other “rail.” It worked well for us. We tried the sleeping bag thing, but she didn’t like sleeping on carpet which she perceived as nasty! Mderdey
We would go to the dollar store and get little goodies and wrap them and give them as prizes along the way. It worked great
