If you saw my recent post about dip nails, you’ll see that I LOVED the dip, HATED the manicure. I discovered Revel Nails– a home dip kit and LOVE IT.

It took 30 min, but that was because I was being extremely cautious and watching a step-by-step video tutorial. Hahaha, I did NOT want to mess this up.

It’s super simple. And by “super simple” I mean it’s idiot proof. I am notoriously horrible at doing my own nails and these came out brilliantly!

This is the shade “lovely” and I only used 2 coats of gel, but you can do three if you want the dip thicker. I also love that you can file down the color if it’s too thick in one area or you accidentally got a bit on your cuticle.

I kid you not, idiot proof. If I can do it, I PROMISE, you can do it. The tutorials on the website are incredibly detailed and helpful.

The only downside of dip nails at home is that they’re STILL acrylic and you still need to soak them off with acetone. I always recommend the wrap method of soaking a small cotton square the size of your nail in acetone, placing the square on your nail and wrapping the entire finger with aluminum foil.

If you want to try it, here is a link for a discount. As this is a first impressions post, I’ll do a follow-up post in a couple of weeks to discuss any new thoughts or tips I have found helpful.

Legitimately, this is the first manicure I’ve done in a decade myself that didn’t end up looking like a small child did it. I’m beyond impressed with both my left AND right hands!
