I don’t often get the chance to sit down and rea I don’t often get the chance to sit down and read my ever-growing stack of magazines. The break-neck pace of life can easily steal these small but precious moments of much needed “me time.” Every so often, my body reminds me to slow down. Not in the typical “gentle nudge” some get, but more like a kick to the face- like getting mono for the 4th time or throwing out my back. I frequently joke that I have no chill, and in typical Adriele form, neither does my body. So when I awoke this morning and my back screamed at me, I immediately resigned myself to a day in bed. I could fuss and fight this new ailment, or I could lean in and find a way to make the best of the situation. I’ll be fine tomorrow, but today I’m laying in bed, reading books to my constantly-growing 6 year old, and soaking up this one on one time before he decides he can read to himself. A day in bed certainly throws a wrench in my plans of productivity, but life is short, so I’m going to enjoy every (back aching) minute of it and read my magazines. I’m always happier after diving into these beautiful volumes and my house and cooking always benefit from it too! 😉 I hope you get a chance to steal some “me time” this week too!
