Our 4th weekend looked a bit different than past y Our 4th weekend looked a bit different than past years, but Alexander still had a lot of fun! Fireworks with family, neighborhood bike parade, swimming at the grandparent’s, birthday for Grandpa Dixon, and sparklers at home before an early bedtime. Hope y’all had a safe 4th!
Sigh. Dad is back in the hospital. He was able to Sigh. Dad is back in the hospital. He was able to come home earlier this week and I was able to see him finally. He commented that in the past year he’s been in the hospital for over 6 months. ☹️ He’s tired of being sick and just wants to be home with my mom and his dog. Prayers for healing and for both he and my mom’s sanity. They’ve been together since they were 12/13 and this is rough on them both.

Happy Father’s Day to my amazing husband Ian. If Happy Father’s Day to my amazing husband Ian. If ever there was a man meant to be a father, it was Ian Dixon. This man has been the BEST dad to Alexander and he truly in a partner in raising our little guy. He’s as active in taking care of him as I am (many times more), and his constant love for Alexander is never failing. He’s kind but also not a pushover. He holds Alexander to the same standards as I do and loves him just as fiercely. He’s been this way ever since Alexander was born (technically even before)! Ian teaches him to be strong, kind, respectful, humble, how to love the Lord and others, and how to be selfless in that love. I know without a doubt, that our son will turn out to be a remarkable man, just like his daddy. ❤️ Happy Father’s Day to the man that makes our world so much better!

I decided that chapter books were missing from Ale I decided that chapter books were missing from Alexander’s life. 📚 We read every day, but there’s something about going on an adventure together over multiple days with a book that makes my heart happy. I remember my parents reading books to me and how much I looked forward to bedtime to continue those stories! We began with a favorite- Mr. Popper’s Penguins. 🐧 We got through 3 chapters before I had to cut him off. I found the BEST work pants for under $30. They’ I found the BEST work pants for under $30. They’re stretchy, not see-through, have pockets (and a zipper), and insanely comfortable. I felt like I was wearing pajamas all day at work! (Which I desperately needed my first day back.)
